Enduring

Enduring is not easy. Oh no! Yet, when I think about my Lord, and all He went through, I know that what I go through is minor. Did you ever notice how when we hear other people’s problems our own are not as bad?

Many of my friends also suffer in various ways. I pray for them, and I know they pray for me, that our pain may be lessened. Some of the people I admire most have been those who suffered much more than I ever will. Just to name two: Spencer W. Kimball and Neal A. Maxwell. Yet they endured well. I pray I may be as valiant as they.

We all suffer in one form or another. The thing that keeps me going is my faith in Jesus Christ. When I am in great pain, I do what my doctor(s) tell me to do, yet I also take it to the Lord. I am a firm believer that  Jesus Christ has restored the Priesthood back to the Earth to bless men and women, and so I ask for blessings at the hands of those who not only hold, but “honor” that Priesthood. Just because someone says they are a priest does not make then one. Only those who “Honor Their Covenants” and “Keep the Commandments or strive so to do” are worthy to hold the “Power” that comes with that calling. (Just my humble opinion.)

Anne Morrow Lindbergh wisely cautioned:

“I do not believe that sheer suffering teaches. If suffering alone taught, all the world would be wise, since everyone suffers. To suffering must be added mourning, understanding, patience, love, openness and the willingness to remain vulnerable” (quoted in “Lindbergh Nightmare,” Time, 5 February 1973, 35).

Certain forms of suffering, endured well, can actually be ennobling.

Annie Swetchine said,

“Those who have suffered much are like those who know many languages; they have learned to understand and be understood by all” (quoted in Neal A. Maxwell, We Will Prove Them Herewith [1982], 123).

When I reflect upon my Saviour and think upon all he endured at the hands of others, I cringe. I tend to whine from time to time over my struggles, yet He never did. They spit upon him. They beat him. They scourged him with whips. They cast him in prison. They dragged him through the town naked and placed a crown of thorns upon his head, before they nailed him to that cross. And to make it even worse, they did that “after” he had bled at every pore because of the pains, mourning, depression, injustice and sins of everyone who ever has been born, who was then alive, and all who would yet be born. Yet, he still had compassion.

Jesus Christ rose victorious over death and He did that for you and me. Our pains only last a short time compared to the pains of those who reject him or refuse to repent of their own sins.

Another wise man, who was also a prophet of God, Gordon B. Hinckley once said,

“Don’t get discouraged, things will work out!”

I hung that quote with his photograph on the wall in my bedroom. When I am feeling sorry for myself, and start to get discouraged, I look up and see it, and know things will work out. I turn my head and look upon my other wall and see the picture of the current Prophet, Thomas S. Monson, and think about him telling me to:

“Be more positive…”

When President Ezra Taft Benson called me to Salt Lake City, Utah, he said (among other things):

“Hang the words of the prophets on your walls, and then go out and do good.”

I am a firm believer in following the prophets and have always been blessed because I do that. It is not that I do not experience problems, for I surely do. It is that after – I experience greater blessings and that makes it worth whatever I have gone through.

In the Holy Bible we read:

“And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.” (Matthew 19:29)

God does not lie.

Gentle hugs from a distance.

To Donald Trump

It appears you may become our next president of the United States, and I have some concerns. As I saw you in a prayer circle of Christian men and women, I trust that you are a Christian man yourself. Nevertheless, from your recent comments, I am not sure you are aware of a few things, which I share with you here.

America is a land which has been dedicated and consecrated unto God, your Heavenly Father, and set apart by the lives of thousands of men and women. Many of our brothers and sisters, mothers and fathers, came to this continent and have given of their time and energy, and their very lives to protect America as a land of freedom for all of God’s children. This is God’s Country, even though many do not believe that any longer. God will not be mocked.

God gave us agency to choose for ourselves whom we would worship and serve. Some call it “free” agency, yet God and His beloved son, even Jesus Christ, suffered greatly to give us this gift. Jesus Christ became the Saviour of all of your Heavenly Father’s children by coming to earth to show us the way to return home. He not only lived, but suffered every form of temptation and anguish, pain, sorrow and loneliness,  so we could keep that gift of agency. In fact, Jesus Christ died to show the truth regarding the resurrection of man. He proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that there is in fact life after death.

The “Proclamation to the World” shares what God has to say about families and our relationships and also shares the calamities which are coming unless people repent. If you have not read it, I suggest you do.

Many of us have made wrong choices in our youth and growing up years. Some even continue as adults to make wrong choices, however, God has said that when a person repents we are to forgive them and fellowship them. Nonetheless, if they do not repent, then we need to stay apart from them, and pray for them.

If you become President of the United States, you have said you would build a wall around our nation and keep all others out. I wonder if you have forgotten that by building a wall, you also lock people in. You were born after Hitler took control of Europe, so probably know nothing about the horrors committed against millions of people, nor the shame and guilt Hitler caused many thousands who followed him to suffer after they came to their senses and realized what they had done.  When history is forgotten, it is repeated.

Sir, you also spoke of torturing those who believe differently than you do. Again, that sounds very much as Stalin or Hitler and those who followed them. I know that many do not believe the holocaust happened, but I know it did. Since the Gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored to the earth that have been wars and rumors of wars; Earthquakes in divers places around the world; Famine and poverty in many nations, including our own. Would you have Americans become a nation of murders? Would you really want us to become such as those of the ISIS population? I pray not!

The way the Lord and the early day prophets described this is as “birth pains”. They started mild and now have grown more frequent and more severe. Our day has become very much worse since that time of the Civil War. I wonder sir, if you remember why that war was fought? Once again, it was about agency or by another name: freedom. Some wanted slaves, other wanted to free them. This thing regarding freedom has always caused much bloodshed.

Many people do not believe that God is alive. They feel that when Jesus died, that was it. Some believe the Christ has not yet come. Many do not believe in the resurrection, nor do they believe in work for their dead.

I personally know what it is liked to be raped and tortured by multiple people and find out you are with child. Yet, I also know that God is not the father of such unhappiness.  He does not want us to be unhappy, but rather to have real joy and happiness, not only after we die, but while we are upon this earth. This is part of the reason He gave us Commandments, so we could find happiness and joy while upon the earth. He is not the Father of cruelty to others of His children. Yet, He will allow evil to happen to His children, because He gave us all our agency. Only, those who do evil must and shall pay a horrific price if they do not repent.  Their pains will be worse than what the Lord, Jesus Christ went through Himself, unless they repent. He bled at every pore from the pain. It was not only on the cross that He suffered.

May God bless you to make the correct choices, that you may have a change of heart regarding our Nation as well as all other Nations. Sir, every person living and dead are children of your Heavenly Father. If you do not believe me, ask God and read your version of the Holy Bible if you have one.

I so pray you will repent before you get into office, for I know America has stopped being what God and our forefathers intended it to be. In my humble opinion, from what I have seen and heard, many no longer care about God and truth, nor doing what is right in the eyes of God. Please Sir, repent before our once great nation is destroyed.

Blessed are the Merciful

As I was reading tonight, this came to me, I share with you:

“Be merciful and you shall obtain mercy” The word of the Lord unto His disciples in days of old (and I might add to us today).

The voice of universal charity, breathing forth the spirit of Christ upon a weak, sinful and a fallen world. None but the tempted know, what trials are; none but the fallen what the fallen suffer, or how they endured ere they fell. None but God can fully know the why and wherefore of their fall.” (Heber C. Kimball)

“Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.”(Matthew 5:7 (Jesus Christ the Son of God)

Heber C Kimball continued:

“Why should we rail at the fallen? Why not rather weep, when a brother or sister sins? Why hate them for what is their misfortune? The heavens wept over fallen Lucifer. God weeps over the people of the earth”.

He was not the only one who shared this truth with us:

“And it came to pass that the God of heaven looked upon the residue of the people, and he wept; and Enoch bore record of it, saying: How is it that the heavens weep, and shed forth their tears as the rain upon the mountains?” (Moses 7:28)

He went on to share why God wept. We are His children. Have you who are parents or have loved ones not wept when you cannot help them, even though you tried?

“But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;
“How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.
“These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.
“But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,
“Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
“And of some have compassion, making a difference: (Jude 1:17-22)

Wanting to make a difference in the world, Mother Teresa founded the Congregation of the Missionaries of Charity in 1950. The mission of her small organization was to help “the poorest of the poor” in the slums of Calcutta, India, by educating and meeting the needs of the destitute and starving. She wanted to bring comfort to the sick and dying who often felt unloved, uncared for, and unwanted.” (Edward Le Joly, Mother Teresa of Calcutta: A Biography (San Francisco: Harper and Row, 1983), 28–29.

Thousands were given comfort and love, shelter, food, and what they needed most was love and compassion. Today, the Sisters and many other Christians, Jewish and Muslim people are blessing the lives of those who are struggling. But, is it enough if all of us do not reach out in mercy?

Are we not chosen to make a difference? I beg of you all to get on your knees and ask God almighty, no matter what you call Him, to forgive you of your sins and bless those who must suffer unless they listen and turn from their sins. Then get up and show mercy to everyone and sin no more. God loves ALL His children, not just those who know Him. He sent Jesus Christ, His son who was perfect, to show us how to forgive. We can do this.

May we all endure well until He returns. God gave us the gift of our agency, whom do you follow?

Tolerance and Love

Our Father in Heaven loves all of His children . . . .In fact: God is Love.

Peter taught that “God is no respecter of persons: “But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.” (Acts 10:34-35)

In his conference talk on tolerance and love, Elder Russell M. Nelson taught that “real love for the sinner may compel courageous confrontation—not acquiescence! Real love does not support self-destructing behavior.” (Russell M. Nelson, “Teach Us Tolerance and Love,” Ensign, May 1994, 71)

Below are the words of Russell M Nelson, an apostle of the Lord Jesus Christ. I have taken the liberty of using part of his talk as I feel they are most applicable today. He too used that quote from Acts 10:34-35, then said:

“Yet His children can be so intolerant with one another. Neighboring factions, whether they be identified as groups or gangs, schools or states, counties or countries, often develop animosity. Such tendencies make me wonder: Cannot boundary lines exist without becoming battle lines? Could not people unite in waging war against the evils that beset mankind instead of waging war on each other? Sadly, answers to these questions are often no. Through the years, discrimination based on ethnic or religious identity has led to senseless slaughter, vicious pogroms, and countless acts of cruelty. The face of history is pocked by the ugly scars of intolerance.

“While we strive for the virtue of tolerance, other commendable qualities need not be lost. Tolerance does not require the surrender of noble purpose or of individual identity.

“We are grateful for the many examples of heroic service rendered in times of earthquakes, floods, hurricanes, or other disasters. Such cooperative efforts to help neighbors in distress transcend any barriers posed by religion, race, or culture. Those good deeds are latter-day love in action!

“Of course we are concerned with the need for ambulances in the valley below. But at the same time, we cannot ignore the greater need for protective guardrails on the cliffs above. Limited resources needed for the accomplishment of the higher work cannot be depleted in rescue efforts that provide only temporary relief.

“The biblical prophet Nehemiah must have felt that same commitment to his important calling. When he was asked to divert attention away from his primary purpose, he replied: “I am doing a great work, so that I cannot come down: why should the work cease, whilst I leave it, and come down to you? (Nehemiah 6:3)

“Now may I offer an important note of caution. An erroneous assumption could be made that if a little of something is good, a lot must be better. Not so! Overdoses of needed medication can be toxic. Boundless mercy could oppose justice. So tolerance, without limit, could lead to spineless permissiveness.”

“The Lord drew boundary lines to define acceptable limits of tolerance. Danger rises when those divine limits are disobeyed. Just as parents teach little children not to run and play in the street, the Savior taught us that we need not tolerate evil. “Jesus went into the temple of God, and … and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers.” (Matthew 21:12) Though He loved the sinner, the Lord said that He “cannot look upon sin with the least degree of allowance.” (D&C 1:31) His Apostle Paul specified some of those sins in a letter to the Galatians. The list included “adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, … wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like.” (Galatians 5: 19-21)

“To Paul’s list I might add the regrettable attitudes of bigotry, hypocrisy, and prejudice. These were also decried in 1834 by early Church leaders who foresaw the eventual rise of this church “amid the frowns of bigots and the calumny of hypocrites.” The Prophet Joseph Smith prayed that “prejudices may give way before the truth.” (D&C 109:56,70) Hatred stirs up strife ( Proverbs 10:12) and digs beneath the dignity of mature men and women in our enlightened era.”

My beloved brothers and sisters, at this time in America many are trying to distract us from what is so important. Jesus Christ taught us to love others as we love ourselves. Remember, those who practice an “eye for an eye” only leave an entire nation of blind people.

Another of my favorite teachers was Mother Teresa of Calcutta. She once said,

“If we pray, we will believe; If we believe, we will love; If we love, we will serve.” (Mother Teresa)

It is my prayer that we will follow the Saviour and stop feeding into the world’s hatred. Rather, let us love and do good wherever we may be.

Questions on my mind

Today is a Sabbath day for me. I love the Sabbath days that God has given unto His children. A day of rest from our labors. A day to meet with others and partake of the Sacrament in remembrance of Jesus Christ and him crucified for us.

As I was reading this morning, I came across things that prophets have spoken since days began about God’s laws. One of the very first laws God gave was for Adam and Eve to go forth and multiply. He never rescinded that law. All of their posterity (of which you and I are one) were under obligation to honor that same law.

When I was married, I told my husband I would give him no more children until he became a better father to the two I had given him. Big mistake on my part, because after our children were kidnapped, he wanted me to have more children, and I refused. I was grieving for that which I had lost, and did not want to create more with a man who would not protect us.

When my home was broken into a few years later (after my husband left) I became pregnant by strangers. I believe that little spirit was to have been mine and she wanted to come to earth so badly that she came the way she did just to get her body. If I had not refused my husband, perhaps she could have come to a married father and mother. I did give her life, yet, when I had cancer I had to give her up. God wanted me to have children, yet, that was not to be my joy in this life. I was never to give birth to another child.

This morning, I read something that one of the prophets of this last dispensation said. I would like to share it with you:

…”If the love of the world and wicked practices of the world mean more to a man and a woman then to keep the commandment of the Lord in this respect (to multiply) then they shut themselves off from the eternal blessing of increase. Those who willfully and maliciously design to break this important commandment shall be damned. They cannot have the Spirit of the Lord.” . . .

“If we refuse to live by the covenants we make, especially in the house of the Lord, then we cannot receive the blessings of those covenants in eternity. If the responsibilities of parenthood are willfully avoided here, then how can the Lord bestow upon the guilty the blessings of eternal increase? It cannot be, and they shall be denied such blessings (Joseph Fielding Smith 1955 – Doctrines of Salvation 2: 87-89)

I was not a member of the Lord’s true church when I married my husband, so we were not sealed in marriage, although I did believe in my vows (until death us do part). I remarried after the rape, and my first husband was not dead (He had obtained a divorce for mental cruelty since I refused him). Until I joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day-saints I did not even know what a Temple was. Now, I honor my covenants with the Lord. Knowing the great blessings God wants us to have, not just in this life, but for all eternity helps me to keep going.

Over years past, I have been able to help other women who got pregnant, either by incest, rape, or by sex outside of marriage. I have felt good in helping them to learn truth in time to save the child they otherwise would have aborted. I know many women can not give birth to a child, and the only way they can have a family is to adopt others children. I believe that those sweet little ones came to earth so these good women can have that blessing.

In the world today, many have been tricked into not knowing what they were doing. Many are using abortion as a form of birth control. As I have seen women who have had abortions in the past learn truth, I strive to comfort them and let them know that since they did not know, the Atonement covers that sin of murder. I know many mourn and grieve for the rest of their lives over what was done. It also breaks my heart when I see so many blame God for their own bad choices.

Now that Planned Parenthood is being exposed for what they really do, many are speaking up and stopping the funding of these murders of the innocent. I am glad they are waking up.

Elder Melvin J Ballard  (Not the Apostle today, but his father whom he was named after) said the following:

. . .”About the throne of our Father are his children whose numbers are fixed and have not been changed nor altered from the beginning, so far as those who were to come to this earth are concerned; for they were seen, even from the days of Adam, the host of the unborn. They have cried around the throne of the Father night and day for the privilege of coming into earth life, and they seek that opportunity today.”

I am grateful that Father has not already burned the earth for what we have allowed to happen to those sweet little spirits in years past.  But I do know the day will come that all those who knowingly do these atrocities shall pay a high price, higher than they now know, for the millions of innocents they destroyed. The things done to these wee ones is worse than anything Hitler and those who followed him ever did to thousands of innocent people.

This is not just my opinion, for I know that God Himself is displeased with the shedding of innocent blood.

May God forgive us and help us to be valiant in keeping the commandments He has given us personally, is my prayer, in the sacred name of Jesus Christ, amen

One of the reasons I know we are to follow the living prophets is that all through the Holy Bible we can see how God blesses people when they turn to Him. Each time people, both men and women have gone to God in prayer, with a sincere heart, He lets them know how much He loves them. The world is kept because of those who are obedient to God.

When God spoke to Moses, and gave him laws, God spoke of how generations would suffer at the hands of those who did not worship the True God.

“I am the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.” (Exodus 20:1-6)

Then, we move forward in time to another prophet. Dear Ezekiel. Bless his heart. He inquired of the Lord as to what the scripture meant that said:

“What mean ye, that ye use this proverb concerning the land of Israel, saying, The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children’s teeth are set on edge?”

“As I live, saith the Lord God, ye shall not have occasion any more to use this proverb in Israel.
“Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.” (Ezekiel 18:2-4)

When we go to the Lord for answers of our questions, we do receive answers. Even as the prophets do.

In the beginning, Adam and Eve had two sons. One by the name of Abel and one named Cain. Cain did that which Satan told him. Satan knew what the law was. The sacrifice was to be of the first born. He knew that God would not accept any other type of sacrifice. Cain worshiped Satan more than God, and when he learned his offering to God it was not accepted, he murdered his brother in his anger and frustration.

” And the Lord said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen?

“If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.

“And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.

“And the Lord said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother’s keeper?

“And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother’s blood crieth unto me from the ground.

“And now art thou cursed from the earth, which hath opened her mouth to receive thy brother’s blood from thy hand; (Genesis 4:6-11)

Just as Ezekiel had done, in a more recent time, Spencer W Kimball was concerned regarding the curse of Cain. He asked God regarding those who were descendants of Cain. He asked of God and once again, God responded, and great gifts became available to all worthy men and women who are descendants of Cain.

On September 30, 1978, at the 148th Semiannual General Conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the following was presented by President N. Eldon Tanner, First Counselor in the First Presidency of the Church:

“In early June of this year, the First Presidency announced that a revelation had been received by President Spencer W. Kimball extending priesthood and temple blessings to all worthy male members of the Church. President Kimball has asked that I advise the conference that after he had received this revelation, which came to him after extended meditation and prayer in the sacred rooms of the holy temple, he presented it to his counselors, who accepted it and approved it. It was then presented to the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, who unanimously approved it, and was subsequently presented to all other General Authorities, who likewise approved it unanimously.”

Then, he read a letter they had written. If you would like to know more, go to the Doctrine and Covenants to the 2nd proclamation and read the entire message for yourself.  I was honored to know that God still speaks to humans even now. Just as with all announcements by the prophets of God, not everyone was happy. Nonetheless, many of us were.

Then, even more recently, the Lord again spoke and told the prophets to warn the world that many are not doing what we need to be doing and some are doing away with the great blessings He gave us. I suggest you go to this link, and see what this warning means to you and those whom you love.

https://www.lds.org/topics/family-proclamation?lang=eng&cid=PA0414-02

It is my prayer today, that all people will turn to Thomas S Monson and the other prophets to learn truth from them in this day and time. Yesterday, I celebrated my Father’s Day in the Holy Temple of God and had a glorious day. I pray you will all remember God, for He truly is your Eternal Father. As you celebrate Father’s Day this year, be sure to let Him know you love Him. As His daughter, I believe He would love to hear from you.

Questions?

http://www.deseretnews.com/article/865630013/San-Francisco-archbishop-blasts-gender-transitions-as-threat-to-faith.html

You are welcome to comment or not. You all know where I stand. I’m on the Lord’s side, just as this Archbishop of the Catholic Church in San Francisco is.

I still say, “Choose you this day whom you will serve.”  When the Lord returns, will he recognize you?

And remember, you are not required to lower your standards in order to get a mate. Keep yourselves attractive, maintain high standards, maintain your self-respect. Do not engage in intimacies that bring heartache and sorrow. Place yourselves in a position to meet worthy men or woman and be engaged in constructive activities.

Never, ever, ever forget who you really are. A child of our Heavenly Father.
